Budi tamo

Otkad sam prvi puta posjetila Nikšić i već legendarni BedemFest, kraj ljeta postao mi je dio godine kojeg jedva čekam da dođe. Nikad nisam mislila da će mi nešto poput glazbenog festivala biti toliko bitno, ali eto, jest!
BedemFest ove godine održat će se po osmi put. I mogu s ponosom reći da mi je drago da se i od mene očekuje da dođem i da sudjelujem koliko mogu.
Prije koji mjesec iznenadio me email gospodina Petra Šundića koji je organizator i nositelj ovog festivala. Osim što sam bila presretna, bila sam i toliko uzbuđena da me to uzbuđenje drži još dan danas... Odbrojavam dane do 24. kolovoza kad festival počinje.
Već imam cijeli plan u glavi. Našla sam odličan studio u centru grada, isplanirala svih 10 dana koliko mislim ostati u Nikšiću i pomalo sakupljam ekipu koja je željna dobre glazbe i atmosfere.

Da mi je netko prije tri godine rekao da ću završiti u gradu za kojeg sam bila definitivno uvjerena da postoji samo na trasi stare ceste za Slunj, rekla bi im da mora da se šale.. Ali eto, put u Nikšić za mene će uvijek ostati jedna od najboljih uspomena iz mlađih dana. Iz tog sam razloga odlučila ove godine produžiti svoj ostanak "dolje" i otkriti sve čari ovog Nikšića iz Montenegra.

O BedemFestu sam već pisala, ali opet moram naglasiti da je ovo festival koji je multikulturalan, nekomercijalan i neprofitan, te uključuje vrijedan rad mladih volontera i veliku podršku lokalne zajednice. Petar se svakako trudi podići Nikšić (što je već i učinio) na još viši nivo i napraviti zajednicu u kojoj su svi jednaki i gdje svi uživaju u ljubavi prema glazbi i kulturi.
Ovakav festival može biti za primjer bilo kojoj državi koja nas(ih) okružuje! Ovaj festival pokazuje koliko složnost, trud, ljubav, vjera i zajedništvo pridonose dobro u društvu.
To je festival na kojem se osim uživanja u glazbi i kulturi, može uživati i u raznolikosti pojedinačnih zajednica koje rade razliku između svih nas, a opet nas privlači i spaja i stvara nešto novo, posebno i izuzetno.

Prije dvije godine, kada sam otputovala u Nikšić, nisam ni zamišljala da ću se provesti tako dobro! Bila sam oduševljena ljudima, kulturom, a definitivno i glazbom te sam od tih dana počela cijeniti raznolikost glazbe i ne ograničavati se biranjem. Jednostavno sam se prepustila svih žanrovima, svim razlikama što i dan danas radim. Ne ograničavam se nacionalnošću izvođača, niti vrstom  glazbe, niti njihovom izvedbom. Uživam kao što sam i onih dana uživala. Naučila sam nešto novo, što je ljudima čudno jer, kako se na festivalu može naučiti išta?! Nije sve samo u glazbi, alkoholu i druženju, ima nešto i u posebnom ozračju i tome što si prihvaćen od svih, tko god da si, čime god da se baviš ili odakle si...

Svaki novi BedemFest ima svoj moto kojeg se uvijek drže i zapravo je jako lijepo da su toliko kreativni i toliko za zalažu za nešto što bi ljudi nazvali "samo" festivalom.
Zadnjih godina, festival ima i svoj kamp, dva stagea, playroom, zapravo svake godine dolazi nešto novo. Nastupa se  na staroj tvrđavi koja potječe iz rimskog doba i ima veliki značaj u povijesti ovog nam kraja. Mogla bi u nedogled nabrajati sve pozitivnosti ovog festivala...
BedemFest je jednostavno događaj koji vas može uzdići kao osobu, poboljšati vaš pogled na svijet glazbe i svijet različitosti i humanosti. Također, to je festival čija se organizacija uključuje u još mnoštvo humanitarnih, društvenih i socijalnih zbivanja i sve je to i više nego hvale vrijedno.

BedemFest je jednostavno festival kojeg je vrijedno posjetiti i ni u kojem trenutku ne razmatrati to. Vrijedan spomena i divljenja te velikog poštovanja. Odlične glazbe, atmosfere i definitivo predivnih ljudi koji će vas oboriti s nogu.

Spremite se, spakirajte i krenite na put s kojeg čete se vratiti kao nova osoba!

Sounds of BedemFest!

So as you all know I started a story about BedemFest. I told you big things, but small things are the best and I left them for this article.
First day was little stressed I had to admit. I found my self in another country, in town I didn`t knew. But the crew was great! First I met Jovana, local reporter and a great girl and Nikola, student that is big fan of dogs and a great soul. They were our company for the time of festival. We filled time with chating while I was waiting for guys from Xander&TheKeys. They came at first day of festival and perform on second night.

After we setlled down in hotel we were invite on lunch where we met Peter again, after 3 months no see. We really didn`t have anything to worry about as Jovana and Nikola was all the time with us, and we had taxi driver that was always somewhere around just for us. First night was for relaxing and enjoying. The big ceremony with Military orchestra of Montenegro on spearhead of procession walked through town to Bedem fortress and then the party has started....

Bedem fortress was reserved for ElectroStage, honestly I was there once and that was on our last day in Nikšić and last of festival. Great atmosfere and great DJ`s.
Peter has built wooden stairs with his volunteers so we could walked from fortress directly to big field with main stage.

Before I even start with last year`s line up I must emphasize that BedemFest has a Camp. Yes!! A camp! Not just camp, a play zone too. With darts, table soccer and so on...
Hey a camp! I was so sorry I didn`t took my tent and settle in it.
On the entrance of Camp, there is Lost and Found counter so you don`t have to worry if you lose something, you will defenetly found it there. Even if you lose yourself. Ha ha

So.. BedemFest.. If you like rock (all type), metal, reggae, electro, funk, punk, irish music... well all that you could find here. Most of bands were from this Balkan region (Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia) but also there were Xander&TheKeys from UK and Alex Kelman from far far land called Russia.
Mr. Albino is one of the bands from Croatia. They performed on HGF (demo festival in Croatia) and won a first place and ticket to 6th BedemFest. Great guys! There is lots of other really, really good bands but I would rather talk about croatian diva Josipa Lisac. The crowd went crazy when she came on stage. And a big guy as Marčelo.... I grew up listening to his music and its was a great pleasure to listen him live.

As I came as part of Xander&TheKeys I got accreditation and was privilaged to be in backstage. So imagine you have a chance to met a diva like Josipa, or singer whose music you grew up with. Amazing!

I`m not usually fan of irish music but OMG !! Irish Stew of Sindidun, is the best irish (irish folk-rock) band I have ever heard. They are from Serbia, and they are well known. And chills I`ve got from sound of Nemanja`s violin are unforgetable.

As this article got so far, I`ll wrote another one about places as restaurants, lakes and bars we had visited during the day. About true energy of BedemFest and  about few more people. 

Still I didn`t write about all performers but that is really big number, so I wrote about bands I liked.

BedemFest - Montenegro!!!

I started my trip in Zagreb at 9:30p.m. Bus. Great bus. Great drivers. If drivers wasn`t so nice I would be lost.
My first stop was Mostar - Bosnia. Great city with amazing bridge that have stories about vampires, couples and moust important- jumppers which are locals and people all around world.
I slept most of the trip to there, what else would I do. I had an hour time in Mostar which I spend drinking coffee with great drivers who drove me on another part of city to get on my second bus.
And I`ve MADE IT!!!

Again - great drivers. And lots of informations about anything i wanted to know.
On border with Montenegro we stayed longer cause I was again talking with officers about Nikšić and taking chance to take crazy selfies with their hats. Ha Ha
 As we were approaching Nikšić there was a stunning view. Lake, Salt Lake. With many small islands. There is  few more lakes near Nikšič thet are stunning too!

Nikšić !! Finaly, after 16 hours long trip! BUT, it was nice trip!!

One of the drivers offered me to drove me to hotel. Hey what a nice person - Jovan, great guy! There it was - ONOGOŠT hotel ( which is also one of old names of Nikšić). Stunning building. Hotel was opened just becouse us. Us that were part of BedemFest. Which is also reason why I came here.

I came as part of Xander&TheKeys (great band from UK), actualy as their guest.

BEDEMFEST. Petar Šundić is main person to blaim for this beautiful festival. This year will be 7th  BedemFest  he is organising. The main quote for 6th festival was "Peace brother, peace" (Mir brate, mir). Peace is everything! Peter's main goal is to unite all people in peace regardless their religion, skin color or nationality. How dedicated Peter is to achive his goal tells the National reward for volunteering last year. He is person to admire, to bow, to congrat!!

BedemFest  is milticultural, non-comercial and non-profit event. There is lots of local volunters and bands that are helping Peter, too. Big thing is that most bands which are performing are not taking any fee for their gigs. Also there is many other little things why BedemFest is autentic and special, but my advice for you is to go there so you can experience it.

Bedem is old fortress above city Nikšić. Festival is being held on fortress and under it on big field. Peter has his hands in renovating fortress, too. I know, what an amaaaaazing person! He is also trying to show importance of cultural heritage. As that is realy worth of admire.

Nikšić is a city in north-central of country under the Trebjese hills. City with special energy. All people I've met was nice, friendly and generous. All you have to do is ask and you will get all answers and help you need. Nikšić is an hour drive from Podgorica - capital city, where is airport too. And hour more from beautiful coast.

In next few articles I will write about this year`s festival, bands, restorants, lakes, heritage, people and lots of other things about BedemFest.
